My life has been incredibly fantastic these days. It's just a pity I can't document everything and just trust memory to not fail me. I'm living my life now, guys. Offline. It's actually awesome.<br />
<br />
In the mean time, you can find me on Instagram. It's more or less updated with photos of my cat's latest shenanigans.<br />
<br />
We'll see each other again, comrades.<br />

I love how delicate the colors are and how they bleed into each other and into the paper. It's just beautiful.<br />
<br />
I had a chance to take a beginner's class with <a href="http://valerieannchua.com/" target="_blank">Valerie Chua</a>, one of my favorite local artists. I remember feeling I'm the odd girl in our table because everybody was an artist of some sort and I'm just a hobbyist. I told them I'm a nurse. Somebody actually asked me, "sooooo... what are you doing here...?" I mentally rolled my eyes at him.<br />
<br />
Anyway, I learned a lot from that class. Valerie was really patient. I just realized that this medium requires patience because you don't exactly see the end result right away. You usually have to wait for the paint to dry. You can't be too OC with it.<br />
<br />
I didn't pick up the brush again for a long time after that. I don't even remember why but it's probably because I picked up another craft or something. But recently, I remembered and so I picked up a pad of watercolor paper from National Bookstore and started practicing again.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjfm02DzvFRs8jndLOJIUHrVJBWYhhy06gcMbV7Lnl1Z2K_t-n9LHBYjNO8qsQ9JJ_a2IEl0iH3SFZRpEvDIjmX0gvTuvkWx7ty9koXCXVzsJMtas02D1KkOXdXCyK09K_lJD-8eHDXAie/s1600/20130421061859814_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="464" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjfm02DzvFRs8jndLOJIUHrVJBWYhhy06gcMbV7Lnl1Z2K_t-n9LHBYjNO8qsQ9JJ_a2IEl0iH3SFZRpEvDIjmX0gvTuvkWx7ty9koXCXVzsJMtas02D1KkOXdXCyK09K_lJD-8eHDXAie/s640/20130421061859814_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Basically, this is what you'll be needing:<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii1kyUF7GSfY-t6tRDWWkP2J3ZofJ9afwIHl4bPKUCB_PxttqHumD52QZP-xjBdpac2JgQmsGpF6zXZik1h6O_7_JiBKbiwO8UQ1LuyeumbG_CWdps5sqzbcUE9zBwtd5yIQ1hG2Nk7lzx/s1600/20130421061418175_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="370" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEii1kyUF7GSfY-t6tRDWWkP2J3ZofJ9afwIHl4bPKUCB_PxttqHumD52QZP-xjBdpac2JgQmsGpF6zXZik1h6O_7_JiBKbiwO8UQ1LuyeumbG_CWdps5sqzbcUE9zBwtd5yIQ1hG2Nk7lzx/s640/20130421061418175_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
1. Watercolor pad<br />
- for practice, you can use the cheaper 200 gsm pads. This is around 150 php. I really love this pad because it's thick enough so as not to wrinkle when you paint and it has 2 kinds of textures: rough and smooth.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipmWQMH-fdikG36nqg6cqdedrn_PEa9BROePIV6WEBIRvNwTe1KypNAxhKmcSA3tHkhqdsoIQV6KLYhbfCTLxIEf4kciSne1bfPuYVMHGQkZ09JODdZKWhmmPb22kc-Ms_ULfNBUeAJiSq/s1600/PhotoGrid_1366576397641.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEipmWQMH-fdikG36nqg6cqdedrn_PEa9BROePIV6WEBIRvNwTe1KypNAxhKmcSA3tHkhqdsoIQV6KLYhbfCTLxIEf4kciSne1bfPuYVMHGQkZ09JODdZKWhmmPb22kc-Ms_ULfNBUeAJiSq/s640/PhotoGrid_1366576397641.jpg" width="426" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
2. Watercolor</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
- I'm currently using Prang. If you go to National Bookstore, you'll see 2 kinds of watercolors: the ones like Prang and then the tube types. I haven't tried the tubes, though. I like the practicing with the Prang pans. It's just like the ones we used to paint with when we were kids. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmhzGXVVeWvKFpz-6zIyMFA3D3b4DTJOSubhA6JU2F4yM7mK16Oeur84rd0VsTSguu33sg65e3wFLFVtxpNjT4ehUrxnjBjQSYHssvHuUe4SybbUZ7PsX59r-bvnZcYn6w3NYIaHoc6YLA/s1600/20130421_035600_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="534" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhmhzGXVVeWvKFpz-6zIyMFA3D3b4DTJOSubhA6JU2F4yM7mK16Oeur84rd0VsTSguu33sg65e3wFLFVtxpNjT4ehUrxnjBjQSYHssvHuUe4SybbUZ7PsX59r-bvnZcYn6w3NYIaHoc6YLA/s640/20130421_035600_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
3. Paintbrush</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
- I apologize I can't be technical and tell you the name of the brush or the number based on the size. I kind of just felt the brushes and just selected small, medium, and large. These are Berkeleys and they're cheap (around 33 php to 150php, depending on the size).</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS3xAk-9igdrxEVmXVfyteh71OpEyBHPu9bZ5BmOmPSsoRSTRpLwL9RxquYbiARoeFQFPuPS1fDo2CWRNsB8z7SHre8hTxdNsePzKjEsTLbkH23LvDluPA7CEy_ukfzGSpgzkfM0tQp4QD/s1600/20130421_063516_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="480" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiS3xAk-9igdrxEVmXVfyteh71OpEyBHPu9bZ5BmOmPSsoRSTRpLwL9RxquYbiARoeFQFPuPS1fDo2CWRNsB8z7SHre8hTxdNsePzKjEsTLbkH23LvDluPA7CEy_ukfzGSpgzkfM0tQp4QD/s640/20130421_063516_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
4. Water and small mixing plate</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
- I use this ceramic cup I have because I want to keep the brushes there when I'm not using them. For the mixing plate, you can use Prang's cover or a small plastic plate. As you can see, the Prang that I have only has 8 basic colors. You need the mixing plate so you can create or discover more colors from these 8. It was my favorite part of my practice. Don'f forget to write down the combinations that you discovered!</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQgcyLdC8xDPzS6o4k1ngtkGHtVujf0Uw2eM-XxzYfGy6MaF-M78tPyIRRcjA2ZPafJFcOwIAcGrUosdNEi9SWNimXWunWRLjBNPZoNN3VQBPwi04XV_OTnoNToMk1NtWZm9Zsujrd3Z2a/s1600/20130421_052518_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="492" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQgcyLdC8xDPzS6o4k1ngtkGHtVujf0Uw2eM-XxzYfGy6MaF-M78tPyIRRcjA2ZPafJFcOwIAcGrUosdNEi9SWNimXWunWRLjBNPZoNN3VQBPwi04XV_OTnoNToMk1NtWZm9Zsujrd3Z2a/s640/20130421_052518_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
If you're interested in taking up watercolor, you can check out <a href="http://www.lifeafterbreakfast.com/" target="_blank">Alessa Lanot</a>'s workshops. I think she has several craft workshops scheduled this summer. Most of the materials found in this post were from National Bookstore. </div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Have fun creating! :)</div>

It was my Me Time again yesterday. The boyfriend let me wander off on my own so I hauled my sleepy ass down to Alabang Town Center. <br />
<br />
I just saw how different the place is now. It is slowly turning into a mini Bonifacio High Street of the south. They've added restaurants and shops there, making the place less outdated. About time, right? The town center had been there for ages. <br />
<br />
It's pretty festive there yesterday, being Easter Sunday. <br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

<br />
I started writing this blog post yesterday in a coffee shop, while watching people. I had to tune out the white noise though so I blasted my eardrums with Amanda Palmer music. Anyway, the splurge of the day award goes to this gem right here:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjezZioHCXr7Yhyphenhypheno0SikL8I5rOh2ZaHKD0FvpE4XalqrI1Sv5p3DmR1_Z1AUKVnt0V68pyJmtWzXFl2OxKF4sp_8mUE3lceYJjJF8ZkWjhCQ4jwjhlh1MbPPNotkudb6zyZLOcPgoZWBLmj/s1600/20130331143453228_2.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjezZioHCXr7Yhyphenhypheno0SikL8I5rOh2ZaHKD0FvpE4XalqrI1Sv5p3DmR1_Z1AUKVnt0V68pyJmtWzXFl2OxKF4sp_8mUE3lceYJjJF8ZkWjhCQ4jwjhlh1MbPPNotkudb6zyZLOcPgoZWBLmj/s640/20130331143453228_2.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
A hardbound collection of T.S. Eliot's poems and plays! Originally priced at 1,215 php, I pointed out that it has cosmetic damage so they gave me a 20% discount on it. New price: 972 php.<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKAh4_ML9d9jsbmkhTAsmDK2RiQchiWCZff3TDVaEJaQFEjvQQAxG6R3zBn-tpegDPt7SVgvA64exlya4fZsTzNYFPYr1UovPReS3xQzZSU2e8f651O6rrMRhrTxlf_UiWYHn_BLJIBxwY/s1600/20130331143350276_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="606" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKAh4_ML9d9jsbmkhTAsmDK2RiQchiWCZff3TDVaEJaQFEjvQQAxG6R3zBn-tpegDPt7SVgvA64exlya4fZsTzNYFPYr1UovPReS3xQzZSU2e8f651O6rrMRhrTxlf_UiWYHn_BLJIBxwY/s640/20130331143350276_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
(Are you writing this down? Because you should. That's a life lesson right there. Boom. You're welcome.)<br />
<br />
I'm really not OC when it comes to books. Mine all have been dogeared because I don't trust bookmarks. But you always have to look for newer copies and if they don't have one, then that treasure is yours for less! I've been looking for an Eliot book for ages so this is just an awesome find.<br />
<br />
Also... You all know how much of a notebook hoarder I am, right? Wellllll... Ok just look at this for a second before you tut-tut:<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxXifvxwOmHQmK4SlFrfEPC1apPus5_07U8rjQ3-YaJuAVgerSJ_PbveXooTUpsEZNt_MLKaJ83kmXKBt8gPg862wM5oWAJgAGQPt9E4GwhYAyKWBA2pR3p6SHAlQSJ7AkkJofNlwlFHdN/s1600/20130331_140442_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="534" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhxXifvxwOmHQmK4SlFrfEPC1apPus5_07U8rjQ3-YaJuAVgerSJ_PbveXooTUpsEZNt_MLKaJ83kmXKBt8gPg862wM5oWAJgAGQPt9E4GwhYAyKWBA2pR3p6SHAlQSJ7AkkJofNlwlFHdN/s640/20130331_140442_1.jpg" width="640" /></a></div>
<br />
I mean, how can you not get one. They're all so very pretty. No, no, of course I don't need it. I just wanted one. Because it's purrrrrty. I know, it's all id in this body. No superego. At. All. Oh look, mini me's!!!!!<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1i_uiqi5qbntDXO7dpTTHaYf_XnUUCEXwaEtISAnrgRzbfPjACcrDQkTvCkghce3nH8vs7Vfp_WPCgOsS-YOJyVEC7-G3ZFIAq-lRCtH55ZQ5g8HVIXvCCHq7hTI3JsqBFFOEOFIBcree/s1600/20130331_140422_1.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh1i_uiqi5qbntDXO7dpTTHaYf_XnUUCEXwaEtISAnrgRzbfPjACcrDQkTvCkghce3nH8vs7Vfp_WPCgOsS-YOJyVEC7-G3ZFIAq-lRCtH55ZQ5g8HVIXvCCHq7hTI3JsqBFFOEOFIBcree/s640/20130331_140422_1.jpg" width="522" /></a></div>
<br />
<br />
Anywaaaaayyyyy, a few bucks short but happy, I decided to go home. Here's the downside of commuting to ATC. You have to ride a jeep to Festival mall and walk to the vans that will take you home. It didn't end up too bad because I got this...<br />
<br />
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3BuHPTJn_GFdQEY3AxAnykan2w6cAlCz4AKuwxZUa8BOCFjGDp-W2qFPFv29b9rkRiPkBmIh95yVSTwFymSw-iOgg3zxG4ixrU0klkJdWLyjoOVT_XCJKyBDYZJLJTRB0K9vb-btKDRR6/s1600/IMG_20130331_165852.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEj3BuHPTJn_GFdQEY3AxAnykan2w6cAlCz4AKuwxZUa8BOCFjGDp-W2qFPFv29b9rkRiPkBmIh95yVSTwFymSw-iOgg3zxG4ixrU0klkJdWLyjoOVT_XCJKyBDYZJLJTRB0K9vb-btKDRR6/s320/IMG_20130331_165852.jpg" width="320" /></a></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
The whole process took less than 20 minutes. The stamp itself was done in 5 minutes! I was so happy (and a little broke) that I didn't buy that Daenarys Targaryen vinyl toy I saw. I got this bespectacled cat instead for 320 php. Woot!<br />
<br />
Maybe you're thinking, "that poor girl has no friends she had to go on her own...." Don't feel sorry for me guys! :) There's this line in one of Amanda Palmer's new songs which says, "I like being alone with people. Yes, that's how I like it." That's when I realized that there are other people like me. I like being alone with people around me. We're a weird bunch I know, but who isn't.<br />
<br />
Till the next adventure comrades!!<br />
<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936821857326845067.post-83189608559483471482013-02-24T13:50:00.000-08:002013-02-24T13:51:40.877-08:00weekend dateDoes anybody here still celebrate monthsaries? No? Ok, I see a few hesitant hands. Don't be shy! Because we certainly are not. Heh.<br />
<br />
This sunday we went to the Powerplant Mall for our monthsary. How many months, you ask. Well, we jusf had our 6th year anniversary so multiply that by 12 then add 2. I can't even remember hahaha! We've been celebrating for 6 years so it's hard to keep up. Anywaaaaaayyy...<br />
<br />
We were famished so we entered the first restaurant we saw, which happened to be <a href="http://food.clickthecity.com/b/JP383f4/mamou-rockwell" target="_blank">Mamou Too!</a> I love the place. It's just really inviting. Plus the manager was cute and she led us to our table. The menu looks exquisite so we had a hard time deciding what to eat. We settled for more familiar food: I got Salmon Benedict and boyfriend got Pappy's Toast.<br />

Pappy's Toast looks like a variation of the eggs benedict. According to cute manger's story, this is what Mamou serves her husband for breakfast. Awesome waking up to salmon for breakfast, right? And they were sooooo good. I really love salmon. The staff was also really helpful. They provided us with everything with need promptly. We are most definitely going back here.<br />
<br />
Having not much money (lol), we just wandered aimlessly, staying mostly at Fully Booked, Muji, National Bookstore, and at Press where we stayed for coffee and chitchat. I bought a few stuff from National Bookstore for rubbercut stamping (look out for a blog post on that). And while I was doing that, lucky lucky boyfriend found this bag...<br />

Can I just humblebrag for a second? I just realized this yesterday. I am really thankful that we're able to do things like these during the weekends. These are the things that I look forward too every after work week. The days are too short, yes. But I think it's really up to you how you spend your short 2 day vacation from work. And with dates like this, I can face the new week with a smile on my face. Yay!</div>

Everything was set up within a week (!!) and I got Clementine last week, Friday morning. The good thing was, the previous owner was going back to Australia so I get to keep EVERYTHING. Seriously generous, man. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8480867671/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8088/8480867671_69631aced1_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='333' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />First day and I think she hates me. <br /><br />It's probably because of the commute. The bus and tricycle rides were pretty rough on her. It's times like this when I think, yeah I need to learn how to drive. I had to transport her in her carrier + 3/4 of her stuff (which includes a sack of litter and dry food) + the bag that I carry to and from work. Poor cat probably got a bit woozy because I had to carry all of those on my own. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8480868595/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8108/8480868595_f1391ae217_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='412' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />First thing she did when she got out was to scout the house. As in the entire house. She eagerly went exploring every nook and cranny that she fit into. By the time she got back to the living room, she was pretty much covered in dust. Haha! <br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8481960466/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8380/8481960466_1bfc4157aa_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='412' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I love this cat so much. It had only been 3 days but the whole family seemed to have adjusted to her already. She likes watching people. If she's not doing that, she's asleep by my side while I watch tv. <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8480870021/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8381/8480870021_bc4473fefa_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='550' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />It's true, what they say. I find my self fully awake and ready to take on anything. For 6 years since I started working on a job that requires me to be awake at from 10pm to 6am, I had been awake at night even during the weekends.<br />
<br />
And you know what, I love it.<br />
<br />
Everybody within 100 meters of you is asleep so you have the whole world to yourself. Life around you seemed to cease to exist, if only for a few hours. You get to hear yourself think. I enjoy working on crafts and blogs at this time because of this. It also helps that it is waaaay colder at night. People say it's messed up, the way I "force" myself to wake up at unholy hours of the night. But that's the thing. I don't force myeelf to do it. My body just listens to the clock that I messed up 6 years ago. It's not normal but this is MY normal...<br />
<br />
Anyway, I don't think I'll ever be "normal" again. Not that I want to.<br />
<br />
<br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936821857326845067.post-80979726631448190792013-01-20T15:52:00.001-08:002013-01-21T16:54:05.362-08:00the Christmas haulI was happy to be able to go to the St. James Christmas bazaar last year because that's where I found the most amazing gifts. You know how it is when it's about 1 or 2 weekends away from Christmas and you still haven't decided what to give your favorite people yet. There were a lot of people there too but it was not as crazy as the malls. <br />
<br />
I also got to shop on my own because the boyfriend gives me this look like, "I love you and I support you but geez my feet are killing me can we please wrap this up and go home....?" So I leave him to his UFC and out I go shopping. I went to the mall that one time and bought, ermm, stuff that I (would probably) need (someday). And, gifts. <br />
<br />
But this post is not about the gifts bought. Mostly because my family reads my blog. This is about the stuff I bought <i>on the side</i>. <b>One does not simply stick to one's Christmas shopping list. It is folly. </b><br />
<br />
So here it is! I bring you...<br />

The poor man's moleskine. 70 gsm with blank pages. Not bad for a cheap ass notebook. The pop of pink is what caught my attention but it proved to be a pretty cool notebook when I used my colored pens on it.<br />
<br />
Pretty pretty stuff. I sure hope these things help me keep organized. 2013, bring it!!<br />

Luis showed us once again his distinct attention to details in this series of paintings entitled Then It Happened. The exhibit features 8 oil paintings (yes, those are paintings!) of people with blurred faces. According to the blurb, this is about how we commit things to memory. </div>

Hello, 2013!</div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
I know I haven't been updating this space as often as I should. So this year, I promised myself that this blog should have something new at least every week. I figured, there are 52 weeks in a year. I should be able to find something interesting to write about every week! </div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
So yeah, 2013. Let's make this year more productive!</div>

I never really threw things away so it's always sort of a treasure hunt for me everytime I look for stuff from way back. The other day, I found this:<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8258021450/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8079/8258021450_f974b14730_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='409' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />My 2002 planner! <br /><br />I remember being crazy about anything that glows in the dark, hence the stickers. It's a pretty girly planner and I was a bit of a tomboy (still am) so I usually cover my stuff with these. <br /><br />Ok, before I show this to you, just remember that (1) I was 17, (2) putting z's in your name was cool back then, and (3) Akasha was a vampire in one of Anne Rice's books. Ok, here goes...........<br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8256952735/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8073/8256952735_7a419af474_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Yes, I am cringing. And laughing. But mostly cringing at the memory of youthful ignorance.<br /><br />In case you were too lazy to Google, here's a back story. I remember having the biggest crush on Tom Cruise then. And kids, before the sparkly vampires and topless wolves, we used to ogle at Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise in Interview with a Vampire. That's what introduced me to Anne Rice's novels. And Akasha was a vampire queen who had a thing for Lestat, etc. You know how it is with teens and love stories and vampires. So that's how I became "Akasha". <br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8256953557/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8340/8256953557_7a581196dc_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Here's a recipe for Iced Cafe Mocha. I don't know where I got it. Pink ink on pink paper. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8256954433/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8487/8256954433_edebb74fb2_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='378' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Most of the entries here look like this. Since I was in college then, this planner was full of class scheds and projects that I need to do. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8256954947/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8218/8256954947_69466d112d_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='396' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />June 29, my birthday. For some reason, I have a few entries with "o, happy day!!!" on it. The number of exclamation points determine how happy the day went, I guess. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8256955475/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8220/8256955475_9683160e70_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='404' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Priorities, man. I wrote this probably after the final exams before summer vacation. And yeah, I think that's all I did for the summer. :))<br /><br />Awesome find is find. This is why it's a good idea to keep a diary (or blog). You get to look back and remember how cheesy/crazy you were back then. <br /><br /><br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936821857326845067.post-91544670790792967942012-10-20T14:08:00.001-07:002012-10-20T14:08:06.480-07:00a day of poking thingsSo I'm back at CraftMNL after a few weeks to attend another workshop, this time for their bookbind workshop with Nikki (from Junk Studio Crafts). <br /><br />Yesterday morning, I went right after work to go stab stuff. <br /><br />We worked on the 2nd floor this time. I remember going in the room and after the hellos, Nikki told me that I can start making signatures. I was like "whaaaaatt? I have to sign something....?" Good thing somebody was already there so I just kept sneaking glances at what she's doing and copied her. Haha! So signatures are these:<br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106503604/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8328/8106503604_bbdbc1e1e5_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='471' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Five pieces of paper folded in half = 1 signature.<br /><br />We made about 11 signatures for 2 coptic bound notebooks. We made 3 notebooks but the first one we did, we used padding glue. I'm probably going to use that one for lists. Oh if you're wondering about the ice picks, we used to poke holes in the signatures' spines. It's a wonder I finished this workshop without hurting my clumsy self. Look at all these pointy stuff! <br /><br />So next we started doing the notebooks that has string bindings. We did 2 kinds of coptic binding: the exposed binding and the hidden one. Aaaaaand this is where I got all spaced out. It's like math with me. First time you teach me what to do with needles and strings, I just go vacant. Haha! I did tell Nikki that I needed a little help as my sewing skills are almost nonexistent. But she was really patient with me and after an eternity I finally got it!<br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106503976/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8335/8106503976_3161715ba6_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='550' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106492527/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8471/8106492527_07575df276_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />This looks like something you use in an operating room. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106493211/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8466/8106493211_1c664519d4_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='267' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />Ta-daaaaaah!! It was really easy once I finally figured out what I'm supposed to be doing (instead of just zoning out). So yay!<br /><br />While waiting, I took a bunch of photos of the studio (i want to live heeere...)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106493909/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8195/8106493909_5aba4a03a8_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='361' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106506532/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8183/8106506532_00a6080a38_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='320' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106494953/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8052/8106494953_b853a5aca0_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='554' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106507794/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8476/8106507794_2937e1f9cd_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106508294/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8183/8106508294_251d712700_b.jpg' border='0' width='345' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106496633/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8473/8106496633_1319cbcac1_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='341' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/8106497203/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8194/8106497203_b8597b1eda_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />These are my hand-bound journals. I was in high school and everybody was getting red, blue or green streaks in their hair. At that time, I was too chicken to try anything drastic to my hair (I heard that it had to be bleached so the colors would show). So I forgot about it then, convinced myself that it wasn't for me. But it had always been something I wanted to do for a long time.<br /><br />Fast forward to a few years. I watched the Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind and met Clementine.<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7925033180/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8314/7925033180_1095358f4f_b.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='266' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />I know that I will do it eventually. i just don't know when. <br /><br />Then last weekend, I finally did. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7925034398/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8300/7925034398_ab7a675494_b.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='550' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />It was actually supposed to be a dark shade of blue. Welcome to Mochiko! The Yoshitomo Nara prints are what made me look twice. Well, those and the cats on the wall! They're all waving! I love how this place is designed. It makes you want to stay even if all they sell are <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mochi_ice_cream" target="_blank">mochi ice creams</a>. Even the boyfriend thought the place was cute. :))<br />
<br />
New favorite hangout! If you're curious (and I bet you are ), Mochiko is located at the ground floor of ATC's new wing. Ch-ch-check it out!<br />

It was raining small animals because of a typhoon. It hadn't stopped raining all night so water was everywhere. But we promised the broker that we'd meet with her (and we were giddy to see the house) so we braved the rain. <br />It was not exactly a house house. We found a pre-selling condominium near the place where the boyfriend and I work. I was adamant at first because I know zilch when it comes to real estate. I was raised in "the suburbs". But when I saw the place, I actually saw ourselves living in it. I looked at the boyfriend and saw the same. He loves it as much as I do! <br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7663589966/'><img src='http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7256/7663589966_011db7e0cb_m.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='455' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7663590262/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8294/7663590262_f6994f530a.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='332' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />We've been together for almost 6 years now so this is a really exciting time for us. It's a weird feeling, really. I feel so... grown up. :)<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7663590558/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8008/7663590558_7edd115223.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='373' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />When we stopped by Ikea in Singapore earlier in the year, we fell in love with the place. The best thing is, they have showrooms on the 2nd floor! So we took a bunch of pictures. I didn't realize that our future home would look so much like those little rooms.<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7663592842/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8426/7663592842_21aca554a8_b.jpg' border='0' width='600' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7663595142/'><img src='http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8282/7663595142_f2f9609060_b.jpg' border='0' width='600' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7663597294/'><img src='http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7109/7663597294_6d928f83e8_b.jpg' border='0' width='600' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />If you haven't figured it out yet.... Yes, we bought a condo unit! <br />Ahh the paperwork is crazy. I let the boyfriend talk with the broker about money matters. I just know I would space out once we talk about downpayments and balloon payments. Ugh. You can talk to the boyfriend about that, I do not have the necessary attention span for all that. :))<br />Exciting times for both of us, yes. We have already decided how to decorate the condo. I just hope we don't jinx it!!<br /><br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936821857326845067.post-45241207116507346392012-07-04T12:52:00.002-07:002012-07-05T07:25:47.800-07:00Diana's Last Salute to SummerSummer had never been my favorite weather. The perfect weather for me can only be described as "gloomy". I'd love to look outside and see overcast skies then feel the cold on my skin. The kind of weather that would make you, nay, force you to stay at home. <br />
<br />
But this year, I found myself wishing that I'm on the beach, just lounging and watching people play in the water or sunbathe. I don't know I guess I just wanted to see and feel a bit of sun.<br />
<br />
I've recently acquired a new film camera, the Diana F+ and a bunch of accessories. I got lucky when I was camera hunting online. <br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<center><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7503128344/"><img border="0" height="600" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8019/7503128344_f6db36ebfd_z.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="600" /></a></center><br />
<br />
<br />
<br />
<center><a href="http://www.flickr.com/photos/81760982@N02/7503129076/"><img border="0" height="600" src="http://farm9.staticflickr.com/8141/7503129076_b297ac9564_z.jpg" style="margin: 5px;" width="600" /></a></center><br />
<br />
When doing test rolls, a sunny weather is always the best option, especially if your film camera does not have "special quirks" that can help you shoot in low light conditions (like selenium cells and that thing inside the LC-A). <br />
<br />
So I was thankful when I finally had the opportunity to test the Diana. Brought both the LC-A+ and Diana to the beach with me and snapped away. I was only able to use the Diana with a 120 Superia 100 film and the 55mm wide angle and close up lens.<br />

<br />
Some lessons learned (which can also be useful to you, dear reader):<br />
<br />
1. If you're using the 55mm wide angle lens, go ahead and take the mask off. Go on, don't be scared. Shoot mask-free! the vignettes would be more pronounced and you'll see your lens' full wide angle-ness. You won't see it my test shots though because I used the 12 shot mask. No need to put that mask in; you're still going to get 12 shots out of your film.<br />
<br />
2. Embrace the sun. I've read so many first time woes about the Diana lomographs being too dark or underexposed so I lathered up on sunscreen and braved the heat. I got 8 out of 12 shots perfectly exposed (the others that didn't make it were indoor shots with no flash) which is actually more than I expected. So yay!<br />
<br />
I was also able to find a <a href="http://www.indianhillimageworks.com/catalog/free/diana-f-exposure-chart" target="_blank">Diana Exposure</a> chart off the internets. I'm currently trying this together with the 35mm back for the Diana. Probably a good idea to load a film with a higher ISO so you have a better chance of actually seeing results. One of the most common reasons why a lot of newbie lomographers get disappointed is their own expectations of the medium. Film is always a trial and error thing. Yes, it can be expensive especially now that there are a lot of apps out there that can modify photos as you please. But I always go back to film because of the satisfaction that I get when I "do something right." It's just different. :)<br />
<br />
So that's my first roll of Diana lomographs. I hope I get to finish my test roll soon so I can share more lessons I learned throughout the process. So with just a few hours sleep, we hauled our butts off to Blanc, Manila Peninsula to gawk at Carina's art and (finally) meet the artist herself. <br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2254.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2254.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Carina lets us peek into her personal life through photographs of herself (most specifically, her feet), stitched faces of her family and also shares with us some bits of history with cutouts from books and magazines (like the three XOs). Much like Joseph Cornell's boxes, the pieces evoke nostalgia, a stirring of one's rememberance, be it the audience's or the artist's own.<br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2255.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2255.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />Collages had never been one of my finer crafts (mine always look so disoriented) so I have HUGE respect to people who can actually collect ordinary objects and turn them into art. <br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2257.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2257.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2267.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2267.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2271.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2271.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='412' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2272.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2272.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2273.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2273.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2274.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2274.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2275.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2275.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2276.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2276.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2277.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2277.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2278.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2278.jpg' border='0' width='500' height='500' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2279.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2279.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2280.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2280.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2281.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2281.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/06/30/2282.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/06/30/s_2282.jpg' border='0' width='550' height='367' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br />And I finally got to meet Carina! I wasn't even worried about what clothes I should be packing. Heck, no. Loose fitting shirts, a couple pair of shorts, some unmentionables, and I'm good to go. I was more worried about what shoes I would bring. <br /><br />For somebody who doesn't like dressing up that much, shoes should be the least of my problems, right? But hey, like I said, I had a premonition. And yes, it came true. <br /><br />The minute we decided to walk from the train station to our hostel (which was my idea of adventure. hah!), I thank my lucky stars for my decision to stash these babies in my bag:<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/24/2728.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/24/s_2728.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/02/24/2729.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/02/24/s_2729.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br /> <br />These are, without a doubt, the most comfortable ballet flats I've ever worn!<br /><br /> Aside from being ultra comfortable, <a target="_blank" href="http://www.facebook.com/MyShoeRoom">The Shoe Room</a> gives you the option to customize your own perfect little flats. Just follow the steps and wait for the SMS. And I must say, they have superb customer service. Abby Medina, the shop owner was so kind to accept my rush order and got the flats delivered the <i>day before our flight</i>. Our flight was a Saturday and the couriers only deliver up till Friday. I was really surprised when the guards told me that I have a package waiting for me. The two pairs were done in less than a week!! <br /><br />With that kind of service, coupled with quality work without the high price tag, I say that I would be buying more flats from this shop. And yes, you're feet will thank you for it. Why opt for flipflops when you have this classier alternative? <br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936821857326845067.post-3127624143831243252012-01-30T17:06:00.001-08:002012-01-30T17:06:45.932-08:00new hair for the new yearWhaaaaaat... I don't know what happened but this post is long overdue. About a month overdue, I might add. So yeah, I fianlly got a new haircut for the new year. It was a spur of the moment thing; we saw a salon and in we went. I've actually been looking for somebody who can give me <a target="_blank" href="abeautifulmess.typepad.com">this set of bangs</a> but alas... Either I look too 80s or just plain ugh.<br /><br />That is until I went to this particular salon on this particular day (which happens to be the day before the new year. heh.) So I went from this:<br /><br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/01/30/3379.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/01/30/s_3379.jpg' border='0' width='300' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />to this:<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/01/30/3380.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/01/30/s_3380.jpg' border='0' width='319' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />He chopped off a huge chunk of my hair and for that I am grateful.<br /><br />I kind of look like Dora the Explorer but I love how short it is now. Good thing he (aka my favorite stylist since thist day) knows how to listen to his customers and knows what looks good and what doesn't. Even the boyfriend had his hair cut!<br /><br /><br /><center><a href='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/show_photo.php?p=12/01/30/3392.jpg'><img src='http://photo.blogpressapp.com/photos/12/01/30/s_3392.jpg' border='0' width='400' height='400' style='margin:5px'></a></center><br />We shall be coming back to your salon good sir. Just as soon as I find your calling card again.....<br /><br /><br />Unknownnoreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936821857326845067.post-13920822139335228082012-01-10T10:47:00.000-08:002012-02-06T15:53:45.733-08:00All Hail the Queen (of Lomography)!!I just realized that I forgot to blog about this and I've had this camera for a few months now. Eeep.. So alright, a little background...<br />
<br />
For as long as I can remember, I have been praaaaying for this camera. It's one of the premium cameras of Lomography. So I spent my days just browsing through the <a href="http://www.lomography.com/photos/cameras/3314962-lomo-lc-a-plus">LCA+ gallery</a> and sighing.
Theeeen, I found this baby on eBay. The owner was selling it for half the price of the brand new one and it's slightly used (as in she used just 1-2 rolls with it). I was so excited!! The beau was wonderful, by the way. We paid for this 50-50. I can't wait to try it so I loaded 2 rolls in a week. <br />
<br />

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
What I saw just blew me away. I guess you can't really start to love something this awesome until you had a chance to use it. The 2 rolls were Solid Gold 200 and a Provia. Both gave unexpected results.<br />

I love the "legit film" feel of the photographs, whether they're from a negative film or a slide film. I love that it's small enough to fit in your pocket. I love taking it with me on walks. I just absolutely love it!! She truly is THE queen. So glad to have the chance to own one of these gems.Unknownnoreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1936821857326845067.post-24299154211702152112011-11-13T13:26:00.001-08:002011-11-13T15:00:27.172-08:00lonely lonely, that is meIt's the first time that I don't have the beau in tow today for this week's weekend loot. He's feeling under the weather these past few days. I wanted to be with him this weekend but he told me he didn't want me cooped up with him and risk getting the flu myself. "Off you go. Do something crazy," he said. So off I went.<br />
<br />
My brain seemed to focus on nail polish these days so I went to the Festival mall to gawk at nail polish. I know, it's sort of lame but when I'm trying to grow my nails back, I obsess about nail color. I think I change colors every week. So anyway, I get there and bought these two: color 319 from BNC and color 05 from BK, which is matte.<br />

Why I forgot to take a picture of the place is beyond me. Probably too excited to see the gray one on my nails. Hehe. So after that, I went to my usual haunts: Booksale and National Bookstore. Bought a couple of stuff from there which are really inspiring. Rummaging through books and magazines made me thirsty so I went to the Coffee Republic at the 4th floor for some Tiramisu Mocha.<br />

The one for lists is a DIY. It's made from recycled scratch papers, an old folder, and colorful tapes. It's a DIY <a href="http://listography.com/">listography</a> notebook.</div>

<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
This list is a bit outdated. I've managed to put more clutter in my bag these days. Oh look I even described my notebook here! I just realized that was there when I was making this blog post. Heh.</div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">
<br /></div>
<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: justify;">
Post-coffee break, I went to California Nails and Day Spa. Again, for the life of me I don't know why I didn't take pictures, like a normal blogger would. Luckily, they have their own <a href="http://californianailsandayspa.com/index.html">website</a>! Look at the pinkness of the place! Let me just say that although it IS pricey than your regular manicure place, it is totally worth it. I've never had such attention given to my nails before. I was literally there for 2 ++ hours. That's about one hour per hand! I love the place, I love the products they use, I love how they do nails. I'm coming back, there's no doubt about that. </div>

Oh! I also bought a new notebook for blogs/notes/"musings". It's a bigger notebook than what I usually buy (see above). It's a regular notebook (<a href="http://www.nationalbookstore.com.ph/shop/products.asp?merchant_code=NBS&categ=257&product=10401">Blue Feather padded notebook</a>) and I just wrapped it matching colors so that it would look like a hardbound book. I know, it's dorky. But I'm pretty fickle with my notebooks. </div>

So that was my weekend. How was yours?<br />
<br />
P.S. My blog is undergoing renovation right now, so pardon the mess. I'm still trying to figure out the new blogger features.<br />
<br />
P.P.S. ...and yeah, I miss you, internet friends. :)<br />
