so help me God....

I have a confession to make.

I do not know how to make a scrapbook.

Guess the reason I go minimalist is because the combination of scrapbooks + colorful embellishments is daunting that I often find myself staring at the pictures and papers and whatnot and asking my self, "Then what...?"

A friend of mine (bless her) asked me to help her design their scrapbook. I told her upfront to not expect too much from me because I'm not a scrapbooker but she said go for it anyway. I couldn't say no.

And so the living room is filled with my clutter this morning...

Good thing I got these magazines for a steal! Thank you Booksale! And the papers and embellishments were from National Bookstore.

I hope I'd be able to pull this off.......

weekend loot

We went to the mall yesterday with the aim to walk aimlessly. We usually go to anywhere with books (Booksale and National Bookstore) and/or record stores (Odyssey) and were able to snag these gems:

  • Goodbye 20th Century: A Biography of Sonic Youth by David Browne (Php 164)
  • Eating Animals by Jonathan Safran Foer (Php 315)
  • Permanent: Joy Division 1995 (Php 500-ish... I think...)

I learned about Jonathan Safran Foer though Carina (nothingspaces.com) as she is a HUUUUUUGE fan. I've been reading a few pages and I must admit I'm starting to love it. :) Thanks Carina!

We trolled around the mall, watching kids like we always do.

(the boyfriend tries to hide. he's camera shy as you can see.)

(and he's content with taking weird pictures of me. hello wonky eye.)

BTW, it's nice to see everyone using paper bags in this mall. I guess it can be a pain especially if your carrying food (my baked potatoes from Wendy's almost fell out of the paper bag due to moisture) but still...

Have a great week guys! :)

Enchanted Kingdom
2010

when you're lucid you're the sweetest thing

Camera Obscura is one of the many bands that can make me sing (and dance) in the shower. My first album would be Let's Get Out of This Country which is a gift from the boyfriend. I would always point it to him when we go to record stores. Not really hinting (no really. haha!). My latest acquisition is this vinyl of My Maudlin Career which is my most favorite album of the band. We waited for this (along with other vinyls of his) for months since it will be coming from UK, I think. I was so ecstatic when we finally got the package; this being my first vinyl and all.

We listened to this and other vinyls we found stashed in the house (Bread, some Carpenters) this past V-day. It was the sweetest V-day I can remember. :)

Moon River

Moon River, wider than a mile,
I'm crossing you in style some day.
Oh, dream maker, you heart breaker,
wherever you're going I'm going your way.
Two drifters off to see the world.
There's such a lot of world to see.
We're after the same rainbow's end--
waiting 'round the bend,
my huckleberry friend,
Moon River and me.

it's times like this...

that I really wish I have a laptop. :/

So as you noticed I haven't updated the blog in a while. My computer suddenly decided to stop working so I'm stuck with a notebook full of ideas for blog topics. Anyway, I hope I can get it fixed asap. It's been a while and I miss you, internets. I really do...

Meanwhile...
